How to Earn Money Downtown without a Job

 Transitional Housing 

You may have experienced being evicted from your home or separated from a bad relationship and have nowhere to go. 

Some have lost a job from being incarcerated and when they were released, they couldn't go back to the last place of residency. It's unfortunate, but very common. 

The city has a list of shelters to assist with affordable housing. We call these vacancy opportunities half way houses, hostels (motels) and boarding rooms, transitional housing. 
 

You don't have to be on the street, eating out the trash, looking for food or holding up a sign to pay for your next meal. 

Community Centers are spread throughout the metro area to help. There you can get clothing, showers, hygiene, mail and medical assistance. 

Many need valid State ID, social security cards, birth certificates and other types of assistance to get income. 

If you're from another state it may take longer than a week or two. 

Housing Authority

Day Labor 

This is the most common and easiest way of earning money while staying in transitional housing. 

Most day labor companies provide transportation to and from work. Daily pay for temporary to permanent jobs mostly in warehouse, janitorial services and construction clean up. 

Earning $40 to $80 per day for 4 to 9 hours of work is usual at least once or twice each week. 

This a great way to open a bank account in a few weeks and apply for a PayPal and Cash App card once you've received your bank card from Visa. 

 

Online Jobs 

Once you've purchased a prepaid phone at T-Mobile or Metro PCS and get a good phone number, email address and Social Media platform to use, you can start freelancing on the internet, after you you've received your email confirmation and your Social Media account is registered. 

Start by creating a blog to store up the various website links, banners, affiliate marketing program links. The information you will be learning online from generating traffic, monetization, optimization and creating content are useful tools to obtaining financial freedom. 

YouTube tutorial videos can assist you to learn various types of trades to work.

Elderly and Disabled

Those that are mentally challenged or elderly and can't work any more because of physical disability, they have no option other than Social Security Disability Income. 

SSDI is different than Supplemental Security Income. 

You may be able to apply and get approved within 103 days. Generally the average is $641 to $902 per month.
